How is it made?

Parging is composed of lime, water, and cement. Adding the proper types and amounts for blending can be difficult because it is a difficult mixture to master. Bad blends, if not done correctly, can result in cracked parging and problems with the parging sticking to the wall, which can lead to all sorts of structural issues when bad weather strikes. That is why, rather than attempting to mix the solution yourself, we recommend working with an experienced professional.

What is the proper procedure?

When the proper mixture is ready, a masonry trowel is used to apply the parging mortar to a wet wall. The mortar can be applied to create a smooth wall or a more textured wall, depending on how you want the surface to look.
